Guest Member Guidelines
So You’ve Been Invited to be a part of a VeroHive video conference, So what do you do next?
VeroHive has put some functions in place to help make the user experience as seamless as possible but there are some things you should make sure of before joining that meeting:
- That your device has a webcam and a microphone attached to the device
- Then make sure that your web browser is up to date, remember that VeroHive’s Technology won’t function on Safari Browsers so please make sure to use updated Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge Chrome or FireFox browsers.
- Even though you can use a WiFi connection, it is highly recommended that you use a hardwired connection to insure the best user experience. You want to avoid choppiness in your video stream.
- Now since you are listening to others in the Vero Conference it is recommended that you use a headset or at least earbuds to avoid the feedback that may come back with audio from your speakers. It not only disrupts your experience it can disrupt the entire video conference.
Now that you checked all of that out and you are all set then lets move on to the simple next steps, it is so easy:
- The host of the Vero Meeting should have sent an invitation to you via email, it will be directly from VeroHive so check your spam JUST IN CASE.
- Click on that link and it will lead you to a landing page, there is nothing to download.
- On that landing page you will be able to make sure that your webcam and microphone are working before you enter the Vero Conference.
- Insert your name and email and then press Enter.
- You are now in the VeroHive Reception Area where you can watch the news from around the world, watch music videos as well as make sure your webcam is working while your host is alerted that you are in the reception area. The Reception Area is like a Hollywood green room, so please be patient until the host lets you in the room. Don’t reload the page or close it out, doing that can cause problems with your browser and prevent you from entering that particular room.
Once in the meeting, if the host requests, you will be able to share your screen, participate in a group chat and more to come.
Do I need a VeroHive account to access a meeting?
The answer is NO, when you are invited to a meeting you will receive a meeting link from the host that will expire once the meeting is completed. It is recommended that Guest Members create an account to harness the free features and heavy security of VeroHive.
How do I sign up for VeroHive?
That’s pretty simple, go to any VeroHive web client, whether its Main or Town Hall, and create an account. You will be asked to verify your email and enter the pin code that will be emailed to you, once you do that then you will become a Guest Member and you are free to use VeroHive and enjoy the experience.
Once logged in you can upgrade to become a Member or Executive Member and enjoy access to all that MegaHoot has to offer its Members.

Alternatively you can sign in to your account and enter the Room ID into the Attendee Room ID slot on your Dashboard.
I am using a web browser, why isn't my camera/video working?
When using the web client you MUST allow the browser to access your camera and microphone, if you don’t allow that then you will not see your video stream. The easiest way to check this is to press the little lock next to the https://www.verohive.net and see if your browser is allowed to access your camera and microphone.
Make sure that you are using the latest Google Chrome, Firefox or Edge Chrome browser. VEROHive DOES NOT support Safari browsers. If you are using a Mac device then you MUST close Safari otherwise it will not allow Chrome or any other browser to access your camera or microphone.
Can I use a Green or Blue Screen for a meeting?
Yes you can if you have a Green or Blue Screen.
Basically if you are a Invited and using the link from the host and have a green or blue screen you can simply click on the Green Screen button in the Reception Area to activate it, its advisable to enter the reception room a little earlier to make sure that it is in place and your virtual background is selected.
If you are a Guest Member or for any Membership level , you have two choices, set up your green or blue screen on your Dashboard OR alternatively you can set it up in the Reception Area. It is recommended to set that up on your Dashboard so that you have time to make sure it’s working properly.
Additional Information:
Make sure that your lighting is proper, there are a number of videos on YouTube that can provide you with the proper guidance. VeroHive does not control that , this is all in the hands of the Member , so its advisable to test it out and know what your green or blue screen set should be for future Vero meetings.
Graphics Processor: Your computer is the key and if your computer does not have a graphics processor then it’s probably not a good idea to use the Green Screen function.
Verohive Desktop Apps: Our Desktop applications are automatically configured to accommodate the Green Screen function and all other VeroHive functions. Unless otherwise instructed its pretty much plug and play.
Browser Settings: Your browser ultimately controls what you can or can’t do, so if the Green Screen function isn’t working properly then its advisable to check or change your browser settings to accommodate the Green Screen function. Just go to your settings area on your browser and click on Advanced and make sure that you toggle the area where you see Acceleration of Hardware. Make sure that you also Enable Software Override Rendering List. Once you do that try the Green Screen Function again on VeroHive again, IF at that point it isn’t working then Please Download The VeroHive Desktop Application for the best User Experience.

Using your mobile phone’s web browser to access the VeroHive web client isn’t recommended, it is being allowed as an option while the MegaHoot Messenger is being developed. Why Does My Video Stream Stutter or Seem Choppy?
Laggy livestreams are usually caused by one of a few things: you’re either having a problem with your internet connection, you’re overloading your computer, your browser settings are not set properly or your browser is not up to date . When possible, you should be streaming using a wired connection. It will speed up your live video stream, and is more reliable than a WiFi connection. Also make sure that your browser is up to date or it is recommended using the VeroHive Desktop Client for the best user experience. Using a wired connection and the Desktop Client will make your VeroHive experience so much better.
Can I record a VeroHive meeting?
DEFINITELY you can. As a host you can record your meeting, select who you are recording and when , you can remove them from a recording all together or have them solo in the recording, the choice is yours. What is the Reception Area?
The VeroHive Reception Area is your first stop before entering a meeting, this is a security measure so that any and all Attendees MUST be allowed or denied access to a meeting by the host of that meeting. An Attendee can be in the Reception Area before the host.
The Reception Area keeps an attendee busy, you can view the latest news, learn more about VeroHive, watch a music video and of course make sure you look good for your meeting in the camera check that automatically shows up. Its similar to a virtual green room that you would find in Hollywood.
Why do I have to verify my email?
Whenever someone signs up on any of the VeroHive Channels they have to verify their email for security reasons. It’s a measure of protection for the VeroHive member and the VeroHive community. You will receive a unique one time pin via email that you will enter when asked to on the sign in page, once verified then you are free to enjoy using VeroHive securely and privately.
Security and Connection for VeroHive, Google Meet and Zoom
VeroHive itself is a highly Secure, Private and Proprietary system, it is not reliant on third party applications, so the VeroHive web client establishes a secure connection which may cause a slight delay in your stream showing up in the room. The desktop clients provide a quicker connection but keep in mind as additional servers are added globally to VeroHive the connection speed will increase but the security will be very high. The live meetings are only accessible by the host and their guests not by VeroHive or other prying eyes. An additional line of defense is VeroHive’s Proprietary “Reception Area” and this is where attendees wait to come into a meeting, its like a Green Room for VeroHive attendees, an attendee CANNOT enter a room directly and ONLY a host can grant or deny them access.
VeroHive is end to end encrypted and not just encrypted, so it provides an additional layer of security to members.
Google Meet as well is a secure system but Google owns the Chrome Browser and have the extensions in place needed for their connection. Google offers this service through their Gmail or Google+ websites and may not be as private as users would like. The connection is quicker due to their global servers and their Chrome extensions but the functions and features may leave a lot to be desired. Just as with Verohive, Google Meet generates a unique encryption key for each meeting which expire after the meeting is over, this provides extra security for its users.
Google Meet provides encryption but it is not end to end encrypted, however its much more secure than Zoom.
Zoom just recently offered end to end encryption due to pressure from the FTC and still its not as private or secure as a user would want, there have been many instances of random people just jumping into a meeting who weren’t invited. Their connection is slightly quicker but they do not offer a web client so their desktop or mobile clients are needed to access the system, which allows them to control how the meetings look and feel. Its rapid deployment has left a lot on the ground security wise.
“The security on Zoom leaves a lot to be desired and In 2019, it was revealed Zoom had quietly installed a hidden web server on user devices that could allow the user to be added to a call without their permission. And a bug discovered this week would enable hackers to take over a Zoom user’s Mac, including tapping into the webcam and hacking the microphone” – The Guardian.
“Zoom was banned by many schools around the world, Elon Musk’s venture SpaceX, Asia-focused bank Standard Chartered as well as governments in Germany, Taiwan and Singapore. A Zoom spokesman reiterated that companies across the world have done exhaustive security reviews of its platform and were using its services” – Reuters
Whats the difference between a Host and an Attendee?
A HOST is the person that created the Room and is hosting the meeting, they have total control of the meeting from who is allowed in and who isn’t, they control all recording and files, who is allowed to share a screen or not. ONLY the person that created the Room can host that particular Room, an Attendee cannot become a host of that room.
An ATTENDEE is the person who was invited to the meeting, they do not control any functions of the room other than accessing emoticons, green screen, sharing a file, group chat and when given permission sharing their screen. They cannot take on the role of a HOST for that particular meeting, if an ATTENDEE wishes to host a meeting they would need to create a new Room themselves.
How do I create a Room quickly?
Simple, on your Dashboard go to the Create a Room slot under your profile and enter a name for your Room and press Enter!
Your new room is created, just be aware that the name of your room will be seen by any Attendee coming into your meeting, so choose your Room name wisely.
Does VeroHive have a mobile app?
VeroHive does not have a mobile app for each Channel HOWEVER the MegaHoot Messenger will give the VeroHive community access to joining ANY VeroHive meeting they are invited to from their mobile device. The Megahoot Messenger will combine the best of a few worlds using Advanced Blockchain Technology, True Peer to Peer system, Ephemeral Messages, Stickers, Video and Audio calls, Video and Audio messages, blockchain enabled End to End Encryption and so much more.
It will be available on desktop, mobile and possibly as a web client.
Will VeroHive have an application for people just to attend a meeting?
YES, VeroHive will be releasing a Mini-App but its been made even simpler for VeroHive Attendees, when a Host sends out an invitation to attend a meeting the Invited Attendee will be able to attend a meeting using the web application simply by clicking a link in their email
The Host when scheduling a meeting will have an email confirmation automatically sent out to the people they invite to the meeting, in that email there will be a link for the Attendee to access the Web Application and place the Attendee in the Reception Area waiting for the Host to let them in the meeting.
How many people can I have in a meeting?
Now that all depends on your CPU power, VeroHive allows for 30, 50, 100 or more Attendees in a room however not all systems can support that capacity.
How many people can I have in a Recording?
Every Channel has its own parameters, VeroHive Main allows for two people simultaneously in a recording HOWEVER you can have dozens of people in the room and simply switch the people in the recording at will from one to another to another and so on. While Town Hall allows for nine people simultaneously, Deal Room does NOT allow recording at all and the Board Room has recording as optional depending on the need of the Enterprise Member.
Will VeroHive have Virtual Backgrounds and Green Screen?
YES, currently VeroHive has a Green Screen feature for hosts and attendees , where they can set up their green screen, activate the Green Screen feature on VeroHive and select their virtual background. We will be releasing our custom built Augmented Reality platform that will allow for virtual backgrounds and other video filters to be used.
Since VeroHive is a custom system built from the ground up on heavy security , third party applications are not allowed to be used currently due to security protocols and we will be working with trusted partners to integrate more options for our members.
Do I need to create an account for every VeroHive Channel?
NO, ALL Members have one sign in across all VeroHive Channels. The only time this is different is when it relates to VeroHive custom enterprise platforms which are close end platforms specifically for that client.
Is VEROHive a publicly traded company?
